This is a sort of Memoir of a Geisha with a modern touch and a relatively happy ending. It's a very colorful movie -- the characters are rather colorful and the sets are full of vivid color. Actually, the picturesque quality of the sets and the way each scene is framed is quite revealing of the fact that the director is a photographer.
Adapted from a manga, the movie is very funny and entertaining. However, it is more in the style of movies that we would see at the Fantasia film festival than the World Film Festival...
